SAFE TREE SWING INSTALLATION

TREE SWING INSTALLATION

Our tree swing installation process insures that you have the safest possible tree swing for your family. Our process is as follows:

  1. We meet with you to determine the best location for your tree swing. This includes finding a limb that is at least 8 inches in diameter with enough ground clearance to make swinging safe. We verify that the the tree and limb are safe to install a swing on and identify any dead or interfering branches or limbs that need to be removed, if necessary.

  2. We can install high tree swings that are out of the reach of ladders. To do this we ascend a rope as high into the canopy as we need to go. We use robust, galvanized hardware and rope that will not decay in sunlight or rain and has a breaking strength of thousands of pounds. The hardware is secured and then cold welded to add additional strength and to ensure that nuts cannot come unscrewed from the bolts. Contrary to what you might think, drilling a hole into the tree will not damage it nearly as much as simply throwing a rope over it! The tree will eventually grow around the hardware installation, making it even stronger.

  3. Pricing depends on the type of swing to be installed, what hardware is needed, and whether or not additional pruning needs to be done in the tree. We offer free consultations to determine each of these things.

ARE TREE SWINGS DANGEROUS?

Well, they can be, just like anything else in life. But if used properly, they are very safe. We will teach you how to visually inspect your tree swing to make sure it’s safe, and leave the commone sense of using the swing up to you!  Because of the unpredictability of tree structure and human judgment, we do require homeowners to sign a liability waiver before we will install a tree swing on their property.
